Slow Cooker Pork Roast and Apples Rate this article: 4.3 3064 Print Yield:Serves 6-8 Prep Time: 10 minutes Cooking Time: 6 hours on LOW; 3 hours on HIGH Ingredients: 1 boneless centre cut Ontario pork roast (about 2 lb/1 kg) 2 tbsp (30 mL) Cajun seasoning 2 tbsp (30 mL) chopped parsley 2 apples, cored and sliced 1 large onion, sliced 1 large carrot, sliced 1/2 cup (125 mL) apple juice 2 tbsp (30 m) cornstarch 2 tbsp (30 mL) water 1/4 tsp (1 mL) each salt and pepper Watch the video Cooking Instructions: Remove any netting or string from pork roast, if any and discard. Pat roast dry. In a small bowl, combine Cajun seasoning and parsley and rub all over roast. Stir together apples, onion, carrot and apple juice in bottom of slow cooker. Place roast on top and cover with lid. Cook on LOW for 6 hours or on HIGH for 3 hours. Remove roast to a cutting board and tent with foil. Increase slow cooker to HIGH, if necessary. In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch, water, salt and pepper. Pour into slow cooker and cook, stirring for about 10 minutes or until thickened slightly.
