Peameal Bacon BLT Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • Peameal bacon made with pork raised by Ontario farmers (sliced)
  • Bun (white or whole wheat)
  • Tomato (sliced)
  • Iceberg lettuce or mixed greens (chopped)
  • Mayonnaise (optional)
  • 1 egg (optional)

Cooking Instructions:

Oven method:

  1. Preheat oven to 350˚C
  2. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper (makes clean up easier)
  3. Place slices of peameal bacon on cookie sheet
  4. Bake peameal bacon slices on a parchment-lined cookie sheet in centre of oven for 20 minutes

Pan fry method:

  1. Pan fry slices of peameal bacon 2-3 minutes over medium heat. 
  2. Flip over and cook other side for 2-3 minutes

How to assemble:

  1. Slice bun
  2. Layer slices of tomato, chopped lettuce, and peameal bacon slice. Add mayonnaise to top of bun (optional)
  3. Enjoy!
