Maria DeRosa Project 20-006 Maria DeRosa is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Carlton University. bio Her research seeks to develop biosensors and ‘smart’ materials based on DNA aptamers. DeRosa’s lab is developing new aptamers targetting neurotransmitters, viruses, disease biomarkers, and toxins. DeRosa works in collaboration with government researchers from Agriculture and Agrifood Canada, Health Canada and Environment Canada, as well as industrial partners and farmers groups.
