Senecavirus A Update

In July 2016, 12 cases of vesicular disease have been noted at US slaughter houses in Iowa (http:// - valley - virus - cases - found - slaughterhouses ). Seventy - five percent (9 out of 12) were confirmed positive for Senecavirus A (Seneca Valley Virus A), and all were negative for Foot and Mouth Disease. It is important to be reminded of the clinical signs, and what to do if found in your herd. Producers are urged to be on the alert for any signs noted on the list below, and practice biosecurity awareness.
