November 29th, 2017 • Ontario Pork hosted its annual MPP Reception at Queen’s Park last night (November 28th). The reception was attended by approximately 100 guests, which included MPPs and their staff members, as well as Ontario Pork Board Members. Eric Schwindt, Chair of Ontario Pork, provided an update on Ontario Pork’s social responsibility journey and its importance to consumers, policy makers and other stakeholders. Hon. Jeff Leal, Ontario’s Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs delivered remarks and congratulated Ontario Pork on the exemplary work it has been doing for the agriculture and agri-food sector. Toby Barrett, MPP for Haldimand-Norfolk and ag critic for the PC party, and John Vanthof, MPP for Timiskaming-Cochrane and ag critic for the NDP party, also delivered remarks. Guests had the opportunity to sample maple ginger glazed ham and pulled pork poutine, among other dishes made with delicious Ontario pork.
