Meating Space – Virtual Conference and Exhibition (November 3)

New in 2021, Meating Space is the virtual rendition of Meat & Poultry Ontario's (MPO) biennial conference 'Meating Place'. This event begins with networking & exhibits hosted on our virtual conferencing platform, connecting industry stakeholders and driving important conversations.

Visit our corporate supporters and associate members as they showcase their companies in our virtual TableTalk exhibition, promoting products and services that are vital to Ontario's meat sector. Attendees can enjoy 3 educational speaker sessions geared to leadership in the meat sector.

WSPS Funds Webinar (Dec 1)

Lunch & learn to help you access funds for updating and reviewing your COVID-19 safety plans.

This Webinar will help explain how you can get your business (1 to 49 employees) up to date your safety plans and procedures including helping close any gaps in your existing plans.

Through Workplace Safety & Prevention Services (WSPS), farmers and agri-food businesses can access professional advice and consulting services to help them with their COVID-19 needs. Workplaces may be eligible for two days of services tailored to their needs (worth $2,000 – paid for by the Canadian Agricultural Partnership. This funding is available until February 28, 2022.

Swine Online - Tail Biting (Dec 2)

We trust that you are all well and have had a successful harvest season!  With winter rolling in, the Swine Online Committee thought it would be a good opportunity to start up the meetings again! 

You will receive the zoom link on the morning of Dec 2nd.   

The theme for this forum will be Tail Biting. Please take some time to read the attached article that we will use for generating discussions.

As usual, we are looking for 1 or 2 producers who would be willing to share some pictures of their farm operation and do a virtual 'walk through' of the room(s) during the meeting. This will help generate discussion points, and everyone enjoys seeing what other producers are doing. Blended Online/In-person Emergency First Aid with Level C CPR/AED certification (Dec 7)

When: December 7, 2021 - 12:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Where: 63 Main Street, Exeter (very clearly marked).
Cost: $130 for OPIC Members; $185 for Non OPIC Members (includes lunch)

**Please note that the online portion must be completed prior to attending the in-person portion on December 7.

COVID-19 protocols in place. Who should attend? Farm managers, owners, barn employees. More information on what to expect.

Please bring your mask, a pen, and kneeling mat or a small blanket for your knees when on the floor for CPR/AED practice, if you wish.

Cost: Free
