Ontario Pork News Brief
This is a daily briefing of current Ontario Pork initiatives and activities. Briefings will be emailed to those producers who have given Ontario Pork a valid email address and a compilation of these briefings will be sent out in hardcopy to all producers by regular post each week.
Whenever possible producers will be directed to website links and/or phone numbers for more information. This is to help reduce printing and mailing costs. If you require additional resources on an individual basis Ontario Pork will be pleased to provide them to you.

Consumer Website Gaining in Popularity
Two recent changes to the putporkonyourfork.com website have resulted in a significant increase in traffic. A major overhaul of the site’s content was completed in January 2010, with its homepage and menu system adjusted accordingly. In February, the inaugural “Put Pork on Your Fork” e-newsletter and recipe-of-the-month was sent to 13,000 online subscribers. This initial email marketing campaign performed well above the industry standard with a 25% click through rate. This exposed many visitors to the putporkonyourfork.com website, who had not visited the site recently.
In January, the site saw a traffic increase of over 12% as compared with the previous month. There has also been an increase in the number of followers to our Twitter page @porkisyummy in the past two months.
