The Canadian Quality Assurance (CQA) is the on-farm food safety program for Canadian hog producers. The program was developed and is maintained by the Canadian Pork Council, the national association for Canada's hog producers. Completion of the Animal Care Assessment (ACA) requirements will become an integral component of the CQA program effective January 1, 2012. This means that as of the first of next year, producers will need to meet the requirements of the ACA to maintain their CQA status.
