There are approximately 2,000 pork producers in the province of Ontario and they market 4.5 million hogs. The largest number of producers (38%) market between 500 and 3000 hogs per year. Over 98% of Canada’s farms are still family owned and operated.  Ontario’s swine industry remains dominated by the family farm and those farmers are committed to sound farming practices.
