Note: Average price /ckg DW Total value differs from 100 index base pricing because it includes all premiums for index, delivery time etc. For example a base price of $120 on a 90 kg hog that received a 110 index and a $2 delivery premium would be reported as $134.22/ckg total value. Ontario prices continue to be freight on board (FOB) yard, meaning that packers also pay additional freight. The average freight rate paid by Ontario plants for hogs from Ontario is between $2.25 and $2.50 per hog.
